Disposal of electrical and electronic waste
Under the EU's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, all manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment are required to finance the return, disposal and recycling of the devices they have released to the market after they have been used. Products covered by the directive are marked with a crossed-out wheeled trash container symbol (below), which indicates that they should not be disposed of with municipal waste.
